Registration is free and you may enter in more than 1 category type. Click here to register today!

All category type winners will receive a trophy, and photo in Wi Canadian Magazine Souvenir for the following year. All official competitors will receive a medallion.

If you’re new to the competition, you may be required to submit an audition video.

Winners will be determined based on creativity, difficulty, formations & transitions, synchronization & timing, technique, costumes, eye contact & showmanship, and crowd appeal.

It’s about time we show off our dancing skills and have some good old fashion competition because Wi Can Dance and love to dance! This competition is open to all West Indian Canadian dancers of all ages to register, male & female. Wi Can Dance has been created as a platform to showcase our versatile dance culture and Wi Canadian is proud to present it.

Wi Can Dance Competition is held at the Miss West Indian Canadian Pageant.

CATEGORY TYPES

All 4 category types below are accepting registrations for any type of music genre in Bollywood, Chutney, Soca, Dancehall, Hip Hop, Pop, or a mix of any combination.

You can bring any form of dance to the competition and dancers may compete in more than 1 category type.

Group

Groups must consist of no more or less than 3 dancers.

Duo
Duos must consist of 2 dancers.

Solo
Solo must consist of 1 dancer.

Juniors
Groups, duos, and solos ages 12 and under.

For groups and duos, at least one dancer must be of West Indian Canadian heritage. All solo dancers must be of West Indian Canadian heritage.

 

MUSIC FILES

Group Music Length: 2:00-2:30 minutes max
Duo Music Length: 1:30-2:00 minutes max
Solo Music Length: 1:00-1:30 minutes max

Juniors Group, Duo, and Solo Music Length: 1:00-1:30 minutes max

Music files must be submitted 1 week prior to the competition and CANNOT exceed the maximum time above. If they exceed their maximum time, the music file will be returned to be edited. Please also bring a backup copy of your music file on a USB flash drive in .mp3 format.
